This song was inspired by all the talented musicians, the persisitent driven young athletes, single mothers, brilliant minds...who have come from humble means, from struggle, from desperate situations and who have risen above all odds. I am awed and humbled by their stories of courage, their drive, their vision of a better future even though it didn't match what they were actually seeing in reality. This song is about rising above all obstacles, it is a tribute to all who continue to "play on" even though others say it is irrelevant, insignificant or an impossibility.
